Can Tapping Cure Dog Aggression? Spike’s Story
When dog mom Tricia reached out to me, she was at her wit’s end with Spike’s behavior. Spike, a 3.5-year-old rescued mini-Australian Shepherd, came to Tricia with a known history of trauma, rehoming, street life and abuse. He had always been reactive, but growling and snarling had now turned to biting. Tricia was genuinely scared for everyone’s safety and unsure where to turn next. We began with animal communication to better understand Spike’s experiences and how he was feeling in his body when the anxious-aggressive behaviors would arise. Once we had Spike’s perspective to work from, I turned to a nervous system release and reset protocol called Emotional Freedom Technique – EFT or simply “tapping” for short – to help Spike release his toxic trapped emotions and reset into calm. We will explore Spike’s story as we go along, but first just a splash of back story about tapping itself to help you understand this method and its history. As a professional animal intuitive and Reiki Master practitioner, I have been using tapping both in my personal life and in my pet practice for years with really amazing results. In this article, I will walk you through the basic steps to conduct a tapping session with your dog. You will also get to find out exactly what happened with Tricia’s dog Spike. And you will receive a simple guide to try tapping for your own dog’s calm and wellness needs. READ THE FULL ARTICLE
